From photography and paintings to sculptures and multimedia, from glitter to grunge, artists of all mediums are invited to enter their creative pieces in Arts Alive’s upcoming gallery exhibits at Tibbits Opera House.
Gallery shows for 2025 open for submissions by the public include “Opposites Attract,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “Bird is the Word,” “Kids’ Art Rocks,” “Savor the Flavor,” and “Heavy Metal.” Artists may interpret the theme any way they see fit. Artists at any skill level and working with any medium may enter up to three pieces per show at $5 per submission. Paintings, photographs or drawings should be ready to hang using hanging wire. Sculptures and other mediums are accepted and encouraged as well. Entries will be eligible for People’s Choice cash prizes and may be sold on commission with the artist’s permission.
Artists should drop off all pieces at Tibbits’ Administration Office at 93 West Chicago Street, Coldwater, Michigan.
The first gallery show, “Opposites Attract” will be displayed from Tuesday, Jan. 14 through Monday, Feb. 24 in the lower level art gallery at the historic Tibbits Opera House, located at 14 South Hanchett Street in Coldwater, Michigan.
“Sunrise, Sunset” will be displayed from Tuesday, February 25 through Monday, April 7.
“Bird is the Word” will be displayed from Tuesday, April 8 through Monday, May 19.
Tibbits annual “Kids Art Rocks! Competition” is open to students K-12 and will be displayed from Tuesday, May 20 through Monday, July 8.
“Savor the Flavor” will be displayed from Tuesday, July 9 through Monday, September 1.
“Heavy Metal” will be displayed from Tuesday, September 2 through Monday October 20.
