Ox-Bow School of Art & Artists’ Residency received grants from the Ruth Foundation for the Arts and the Windgate Foundation, totaling $165,682 of support for the organization.

The Ruth Foundation Core Grant will support general operations at Ox-Bow with a $50,000 grant. Ox-Bow is honored to be among the ninety organizations funded by Ruth’s Core Grants in 2024. The Windgate Foundation grant is a multi-year grant totaling to $115,682 of support. This grant will specifically support and expand partnership programs for underrepresented students at Ox-Bow over three years.

“All of us at Ox-Bow are deeply grateful for this acknowledgment by the Ruth Foundation and the Windgate Foundation,” remarked Executive Director, Shannon Stratton, “the receipt of these awards not only provides needed support for our programs, but also recognition of our work—our purpose, our values and our vision—which is not only gratifying, but tremendously encouraging.”

Ox-Bow became a Ruth Arts Artist Choice recipient in 2023, making the organization eligible for future grants such as the one received this year. The Ruth Foundation for the Arts was launched in June of 2022 in honor and memory of Ruth DeYoung Kohler II, former director of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. The foundation is home to five other grant-making opportunities: Core Grants, RDK Legacy, Sites & Stewardship, Thought Leaders, and Wisconsin Grants to Artists.
